Host plants:
The caterpillars live on leaves, flowers and fruits of hops (Humulus lupulus).
Habitat:
Eupithecia assimilata inhabits hops thickets in lowland forests, along streams, in wet scrub and elsewhere.
Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly from mid-April to September in two generations. The caterpillars live from mid-May to mid-October. The autumn caterpillars live on the leaves and fruits, the early summer larvae only at the leaves.
Endangerment factors:
Eupithecia assimilata is not particularly vulnerable.
Remarks:
Eupithecia assimilata is widespread in Europe and temperate Asia to the Amur/Pacific.
