Host plants:
The larvae feed on Ononis sp. (Fabaceae).

Habitat:
Aplasta ononaria lives in dry or (in the South) also partially humid grasslands with Ononis.

Life cycle:
The moths occur in one generation in the North (a partial second generation may occur in warm years) and in mountains, but regularly in two generations in the South. The larva hibernates.

Remarks:
Aplasta ononaria occurs in S- and parts of Central Europe as well as in W-Asia.
