Host plants:
Galium species. I recorded the larvae on Mount Taygetos south of Kalamata (150m) on Galium taygeteum.
Habitat:
Protorhoe corollaria inhabits garrigues, rocky slopes and other dry and warm, often bushy sites.
Life cycle:
The moths occur in spring from late March to May. The larvae develop from April to early or mid-June and sit openly on the host plants also during daytime. The pupa hibernates.
Remarks:
Protorhoe corollaria is very local in southern France and southern Dalmatia (Croatia). It is a bit more widespread in the southern Balkans (especially in Greece, locally also south Albania and southernmost Republic of Northern Macedonia), in Turkey and Cyprus. Protorhoe corollaria also occurs in Crimea and parts of SW-Russia.
