Host plants:
The caterpillars live on Rosa spp. Own observations were made on Rosa canina and Rosa rubiginosa.

Habitat:
Anticlea badiata inhabits hedges, shrubbery rich grasslands, forest edges and similar woody places. It also occurs in gardens and parks.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly in spring from late February to May. The caterpillars live from mid-April to late June or early July. They can easily be tapped from the rose bushes.

Remarks:
Anticlea badiata occurs from North Africa across Europe to the Altai.
