Host plants:
The caterpillar lives on Lysimachia species (mostly Lysimachia vulgaris, Primulaceae).

Habitat:
Anticollix sparsata inhabits fens, wet tall herb communities, wetlands, forest edges and ditches as well as other sites of the larval host plant.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly in one or two generations from May to August. I found The caterpillar near Memmingen (Southern Germany) in a fen and small herbaceous communities in wet forest sites in early July 2011.

Endangerment: regionally endangered or decreasing

Endangerment factors:
Anticollix sparsata is in decline and regionally already rare as moist, extensively managed habitats are increasingly rare (also in the context of forests). It is still more common in the northern foreland of the Alps and in other regions that are still rich in wetlands.

Remarks:
Anticollix sparsata occurs from Europe (excluding Greece and the Iberian Peninsula) to Japan.
