Host plants:
The caterpillar lives polyphagous on woody plants as well as herbaceous plants.

Habitat:
Ectropis crepuscularia inhabits mostly quite individual-rich forests of all kinds, and occasionally occurs in woody plants rich urban areas.

Life cycle:
The moths fly in mostly two generations from late February to early June and again from late June to August. The caterpillar is found from May to September.

Remarks:
The distribution extends across large parts of Europe and hence to Central Asia.
