Host plants:
The caterpillar lives on spruce (Picea abies) as well as some other conifers (Larix, Pseudotsuga, etc.)
Habitat:
Eupithecia tantillaria colonized coniferous forests of all kinds and penetrates even in parks and gardens.
Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly in a single generation from mid-April to July (depending on altitude). The caterpillar is found from late May to mid-September.
Remarks:
Eupithecia tantillaria is widespread and common in Europe and penetrates eastward at least to Central Asia.
