Host plants:
The caterpillar lives polyphagous on deciduous trees, very rarely also on conifers. Apparently Clematis vitalba is very popular.

Habitat:
Odontopera bidentata inhabits forests and other shrubbery rich habitats.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly from (mid-April) May to July. The caterpillar is observed from June to September or even early October.

Remarks:
Odontopera bidentata is widespread in Europe and reaches to east Asia (Japan).
