Host plants:
The caterpillar lives on larch (Larix decidua).
Habitat:
Eupithecia lariciata inhabits primarily larch forests in the mountains (Alps, Pyrenees, Siberia Kamchatka etc.). By forestry and horticultural distribution of larch to the lowlands, this species has probably spread both actively and passively by transport into Europe and is now found in forests and parks from Spain by to Central Scandinavia and from England to Japan.
Life cycle:
The moths fly in usually only a single generation particularly from May to August. In August, in the lowlands is observed a only very partial second generation. The caterpillar can be found from June to September. The pupa overwinters.
