Host plants:
Euonymus europaeus (spindle tree)

Habitat:
Ligdia adustata inhabits riparian forests, hedgerows and woodland coats with the larval host plant.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly in two generations from late March to early September. The caterpillars can be found from May to October. A peak of the caterpillar observations is in the northern foreland of the Alps in late June and early July and again in late August and early September.

Remarks:
The spread ranges from Western Europe to Central Asia.
