Host plants:
The larvae are polyphagous. I found them in La Gomera especially on Calendula and Bituminaria bituminosa.

Habitat:
Aspitates collinaria inhabits often extensive pastures, dry and terraced slopes as well as ravines (barrancos).

Life cycle:
I found many caterpillars around Christmas 2009 in La Gomera. The moths fly mainly from January to April.

Endangerment factors:
Aspitates collinaria is endangered in some places by overgrazing and tourism (overbuilding).

Remarks:
The distribution is limited to the Canary Islands.
