Host plants:
The larvae are polyphagous on shrubs and herbs like Rubus, Origanum or Prunus.
Habitat:
Acronicta auricoma lives in sunny and warm, uncut edge habitats such as margins of nutrient-poor, bushy grasslands, on clearings and other, often shrubby areas.
Life cycle:
There are two generations (2nd often only partially) from May to August. The pupa overwinters.
Remarks:
Acronicta auricoma is in Central Europe in grassland edges, drier clearings in riparian woodlands or in dry forest fringes often the most common Acronicta species.
The distribution ranges from Southern Spain to eastern Siberia.
