Host plants:
The larvae feed on Vaccinium uliginosum, supposedly only rarely on other related species like Andromeda polifolia or Oxycoccus palustris.
Habitat:
Coranarta cordigera inhabits open and semi-open bogs and dwarf shrub heathland (tundra) in higher altitudes and the north.
Life cycle:
The adults occur in May and June, in the very north or in high altitudes still in July. The larva develops between June and September in open patches with often only low-growing vegetation. The pupa hibernates.
Remarks:
Coranarta cordigera occurs in Europe and parts of Asia. It is especieally widespread in N-Europe. Further to the south it is restricted to cooler regions with many bogs or to mountains and misses in vast areas. In the Alps, it is found up to about 2500m. In central and east Asia it is replaced by closely related taxa (C. carbonaria).
