Host plants:
The larva feeds on maple (Acer). I recorded it on Crete on Acer sempervirens.
Habitat:
Maraschia grisescens inhabits maple-rich, dry and hot scrub, e.g. at stony mountain slopes.
Life cycle:
The larvae live in spring from April to early June and can be beaten. The moths occur in autumn and the eggs overwinter.
Remarks:
Maraschia grisescens occurs from Sicily and the Balkans to Iran and Turkmenistan.
