Host plants:
The larvae are generally polyphagous, but most often recorded on dwarf shrubs like Vaccinium, Calluna, Salix or Betula, also Rubus.
Habitat:
Acronicta menyanthidis inhabits at least partially humid places with low nitrogen status, e.g. bogs, open bog woodland and their Calluna-rich degradation stages, more humid sandy places and dwarf shrub heathlands, preferably in lower elevations.
Life cycle:
The moths occur in one or two generations (the second often only partial) from early May to August. The larvae develop between June and early october withs peak between late June and early August. The pupa hibernates.
Remarks:
Acronicta menyanthidis occurs from central and northern Europe to Sibiria.
