Host plants:
The larvae are polyphagous at least after hibernation and probably feed on various herbal plants and youg and ground-near shoots of groves. Oviposition possibly occurs preferably on oaks. But this has to be prooved in the field.
Habitat:
Anthracia eriopoda inhabits dry and hot and at least partially grove-rich habitats lieke open oak woodland, maquis, garigues with single oak trees etc.
Life cycle:
The life cycle still requires further research. I have beaten the half-grown larvae (Samos Island, early March 2016) from cut or broken oak branches on the ground which still beared dry leaves. The moths mainly occur in August and September.
Remarks:
Anthracia eriopoda occurs locally in the Balkans (especially Greece incl. Samos island, Bulgaria, Macedonia), in the Levant (incl. Cyprus) and from Asia Minor to S-Russia.
