Host plants:
The larva feeds on Bituminaria bituminosa (Fabaceae).

Habitat:
Synthymia fixa in habits sunny grasslands, embankments, open dry and warm woodland, semi-arid areas and similar places with the host plant.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates and the moths fly in one generation between March and July, according to altitude. They are active during daytime. The larvae live from April to August. I found quite numerous larvae in east Spain near Xodos (Castellòn) in late July 2013. Most larvae rested openly on flower stalks which they consumed preferably.

Remarks:
Synthymia fixa has an expansive Atlanto-Mediterranean distribution (Morocco, Iberian Peninsula, S-France, Italy) and reaches parts of former Yugoslavia (e.g. Croatia) in the east.
