Host plants:
The larvae feed on Malvaceae, especially Malva.
Habitat:
Xanthodes albago inhabits wetlands, fallow land, cultivated areas and other Malva sites. I found larvae in Cyprus on the edge of a wetland (Akrotiri) together with those of Acontia lucida.
Life cycle:
In S-Europe the moths occur in several generations between May and early October. The larvae develop until mid-November and hibernate in the future pupal cocoon.
Remarks:
Xanthodes albago occurs in Africa, S-Europe (only locally and often more sporadically), vast areas of the warmer parts of Asia to Japan as well as in Australia.
