Host plants:
The caterpillar lives on ash and privet (Ligustrum and Fraxinus).

Habitat:
Craniophora ligustri inhabits thickets, riparian forests, woodland edges, gardens and other locations with the larval host plants. Humid habitats are preferred.

Life cycle:
Craniophora ligustri flies from April to September in two generations per year, of which the second is often only partial. The pupa overwinters. Caterpillars are found from June to October during the day usually on the underside of leaves.

Remarks:
Craniophora ligustri is distributed quite widely and is found in many parts of Europe and temperate Asia.
