Host plants:
The caterpillars live in flowers and capsules of Caryophyllaceae species. Especially important are Silene dioica and Silene latifolia.
Habitat:
Perizoma flavofasciata inhabits herbaceous edges in forests, along streams, ditches, and other in bushy and damp locations.
Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly from May to late July, mostly in a single generation. Rarely, individuls of a very incomplete second generation appear in late July and in August. The caterpillars are found from June to mid or late August.
Remarks:
Perizoma flavofasciata is widespread in Europe and temperate Asia. But it is missing on the southern Balkans (most of Greece) and in Central and Northern Scandinavia.
