Host plants:
The caterpillars live on the fruits of Galeopsis species. Rarely, other Lamiaceae such as Woundwort (Stachys betonica) are used.
Habitat:
Perizoma alchemillata inhabits open places in woods such as clearcuttings. In addition, it also occurs in edges of hedge areas and damp herb vegetation along streams. I met it on the eastern Sabian Alb on moist forest clearings at Galeopsis speciosa.
Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly from late June to late August or early September. The caterpillars can be detected easily from late July to September by tapping.
Remarks:
Perizoma alchemillata is widespread in Europe, temperate Asia and North America (Holarctic distribution).
