Host plants:
The larva feeds on grasses (Poaceae).
Habitat:
Leucochlaena oditis inhabits only extensively used, sunny and grassy habitats such as rocky slopes, pastures, garrigues, heathlands and similar places. I recorded the larvae in N-Portugal especially in grassy patches on larger rocks.
Life cycle:
The moths are on the wing in autumn, especially in September and October. The larvae occur from early October and develop until winter or spring. The pupa aestivates. I observed numerous larvae in rocky garrigues in North Portugal in late October 2013.
Remarks:
Leucochlaena oditis mainly occurs from Morocco to England, France and Italy.
