Host plants:
The larvae feed on grasses (Poaceae).
Habitat:
Leucochlaena muscosa inhabits grassy, dry and warm habitats with plenty open soil.
Life cycle:
The moths occur in autumn. The larvae develop over winter and pupate already in spring. I recorded half-grown larvae in Cyprus (about 1000m) in late February 2017. The pupa aestivates.
Remarks:
Leucochlaena muscosa occurs in several subspecies from Greece (e.g. Crete) across Cyprus, here ssp. cypraota (Hampson, 1918), to the Near East and Turkey.
