Host plants:
The larvae feed especially on maple (Acer), preferably on A. campestre and related taxa. According to literature, they are also found on other deciduous trees.

Habitat:
Tiliacea sulphurago inhabits especially warm mosaics of semi-open landscapes with hedges, scrub and woodland edges.

Life cycle:
The moths occur between August and early November with peak in September and early October. The larvae live in spring (April to May or ealy June) within spun shelters of leaves (at first presumably in opening buds) and are easily beaten. In the final instar they may live more freely without shelter. The prepupa needs long for pupation that usually occurs not until August.

Remarks:
Tiliacea sulphurago occurs in parts of Europe (without the north) and temperate Asia. in Europe, it is more widespread in the south (in Spain only in the north) and southeast. I recorded the larvae in E-Slovenia and Romania. Tiliacea sulphurago is extinct in Germany.
