Host plants:
The larvae are very polyphagous.
Habitat:
Autographa gamma is an ubiquist, which can be found in all habitats. The moth only avoids dense forests without open parts.
Life cycle:
Autographa gamma is a migrant species, which can only survive winters north of the Alps in warm regions or during mild years in larger numbers. Moths are usually found from May to October. The caterpillar overwinters.
Remarks:
Autographa gamma occurs from North Africa to Scandinavia, in the north probably only immigrating. In addition, almost all of non-tropical Asia is populated (in the Asian Far North also only as an migrant).
