Host plants:
The larvae are polyphagous. I recorded them in Paphos district on Urtica, Rumex and Asteraceae.
Habitat:
Polymixis trisignata inhabits herb-rich and most often also grove-rich sites such as open woodlands, shady slopes, forb communities etc. The larvae usually develop at shady spots with rich herbs, so in a ravine which was sun-protected by a cliff, under trees or at the shady base of a cliff.
Life cycle:
The moths occur in autumn (especially October to November or early December). The larvae develop especially from February to April, in higher altitudes supposedly still in May.
Remarks:
Polymixis trisignata occurs in the eastern part of S-Europe (Sicily, Malta, Balkan Peninsula, Ukraine) and in parts of W-Asia (e.g. Turkey, Cyprus, Near East).
