Host plants:
The caterpillar lives polyphagous on deciduous woods and herbs. I found a caterpillar in March on Pulmonaria obscura (eastern Swabian Alb) and an individual on Vaccinium in Ticino. In May 2012, I tapped larvae commonly from Vaccinium myrtillus in the northern Black Forest.
Habitat:
Chloroclysta truncata inhabits forests and scrub of all kinds.
Life cycle:
The caterpillar overwinters. The moths fly from May to July and again from August to early October.
Remarks:
Chloroclysta truncata is very similar to Chloroclysta citrata and quite variable. The distribution is Holarctic.
