Habitat:
Aplocera plagiata inhabits higher growing places such as edges in limestone grasslands, juniper heath, ruderal terrain, woodland edges, sandy spots, dams and gravel pits.

Life cycle:
Aplocera plagiata flies in two generations from May to July and from August to September. The caterpillars overwinter.

Endangerment factors:
Limestone grasslands, ruderal and other little utilized sites are becoming less common.

Remarks:
The distribution is Holarctic: North America, Europe and temperate Asia.

Hints on determination:
Aplocera plagiata has alonger abdominal tip than the similar Aplocera efformata.
