Host plants:
The caterpillar lives very polyphagous on herbs and lower parts of woody plants. They prefer, for instance Rubus species (Rubus idaeus, Rubus caesius) or Vaccinium.

Habitat:
Alcis repandata occurs from forests and edges to grasslands and wetlands almost everywhere in extensive habitats.

Life cycle:
The caterpillar overwinters and is mature in April or May. The moths fly from May to August with a focus between mid-June to late July.

Remarks:
Alcis repandata inhabits the whole of Europe and is also found in Asia Minor and other parts of Western Asia.
