Habitat:
Chorthippus oschei inhabits similar habitats as Ch. albomarginatus. Most records come from agricultural meadows, pastures, wetlands and fallow arable land.

Remarks:
Chorthippus oschei replaces Ch. albomarginatus in parts of SE-Central and SE-Europe (from SE- and E-Austria and S-Slovakia to N-Greece and S- and W-Ukraine). In contact zones (e.g. E-Austria) hybridization is common.

Hints on determination:
Typical (but not distinct in all individuals) are white hind tarsi. Quite often also tips of antennae (and other parts of antennae), cerci or palps are white (especieally in some males). More rarely also the otherwise dark knee shows small whitish colour. The male songs are also characteristic, but similar in hybrides.
