Nutrition:
The species feeds on Chenopodiaceae, in Spain obviously exclusively on Suaeda vera.
Habitat:
Mioscirtus wagneri inhabits halophilous habitats with the host plants. It is especially found on the shores of saline lagoons with fluctuating water levels.
Life cycle:
Mioscirtus wagneri is obviously found year-round (supposedly with winter gap in the north). I recorded adults in the Ebro valley in mid-September. The animals usually rest on its low host-plant.
Remarks:
Mioscirtus wagneri is widespread, but local, in N-Africa and large parts of Asia. In Europe, it is only found locally in the Iberian Peninsula (S-Portugal, Spain, northward up to the Ebro valley).
