Habitat:
Chorthippus binotatus inhabits gappy embankments, rocky areas, mountain pastures, gappy dwarf shrub belts and other more dry and warm places from sea level up to more than 2200m asl. It is usually most common between 1000 and 1800m asl.
Life cycle:
The adults occur from summer to October or even November.
Remarks:
Chorthippus binotatus occurs in the Iberian Peninsula and Southern France.
The taxon is very variable and rich in forms. In recent years Ch. saulcy has been separated from Chorthippus binotatus as own species.
