Habitat:
Chorthippus reissingeri inhabits stony pastures and mountain slopes with an abundance of dwarf shrubs in medium-high altitudes of about 1200m.
Life cycle:
The adults live in summer and autumn. They rest on the ground, stones or on dwarf shrubs. The relative large head is typical. On the Montsec d'Ares near Àger Chorthippus reissingeri is accompanied by Ctenodecticus thymi and Omocestus antigai (alias navasi).
Remarks:
Chorthippus reissingeri is endemic to Spain and known at the moment obviously only from two small regions: the pre-Pyrenees around Tremp in the north and the area north of Alicant in the south. It is possible that Chorthippus reissingeri may be found in other mountain ranges as well in future.
