Habitat:
Chorthippus apicalis inhabits dry and hot steppes, rocky slopes, gappy edges in arable land, nutirent-poor grasslands and other placeswith a mosaic of open soil and higher growing edges.
Life cycle:
The adults appear already quite early. I recorded them near Zaragoza (Monegros) in late May 2018. The animals usually rest on grasses or dwarf shrubs, more rarely on the soil.
Remarks:
Chorthippus apicalis occurs in NW-Africa and SW-Europe (especially Iberian Peninsula).
