Nutrition:
Especially grasses, but also herbs (e.g. thistles, own observations).
Habitat:
Chorthippus jucundus inhabits at least slightly moist with partly higher growing grasses, often with Juncus species. I found it in the Sierra de Javalambre and the nearby Sierra de Albarracin in humid depressions and along small streams.
Life cycle:
Chorthippus jucundus is large for a Chorthippus and is adult from early summer to autumn. The animals mostly sit on grass blades and hide as many grasshoppers behind the blade when they see movements.
Remarks:
Chorthippus jucundus occurs in Morocco, the Iberian Peninsula and locally in Southern France.
