Habitat:
Poecilimon intermedius inhabits extensively managed meadows, forb-rich edges and similar places from moderately humid to moderately dry.
Life cycle:
The animals are most often found on herbs. Adults usually occur between June and July, sometimes also later or already in late May. Poecilimon intermedius is parthenogenetic. Thus only females occur at least in the western parts of the distribution.
Endangerment factors:
Poecilimon intermedius is endangered by intensification (early mowing before late June, fertilization), transformation into arable land and afforestation and has already become very scarce in its western outposts.
Remarks:
Poecilimon intermedius occurs from Central Asia westwards to E-Austria (only few sites in Lower Austria and Burgenland) and to the E-Czech Republic.
