Habitat:
Poecilimon superbus inhabits most often pastures and mountain meadows with good vertical structure (bushes, forbs). I found them in the Abruzzes (Monti della Laga) on Monte Mezzo di Campotosta in a Genista-rich meadow.
Life cycle:
The adults occur between May (lowlands) and early October (mountains). They usually stay on bushes or forbs.
Remarks:
Poecilimon superbus occurs in Italy (not in the North). It is often listed as a subspecies of the Greek P. jonicus, but is in my opinion better considered as a species of its own.
