Habitat:
Metaplastes oertzeni inhabits oaks and also other groves in the maquis, in woodland margins and open scrub.
Life cycle:
The adults are found between May and July, rarely later. They are often quite common on oak twigs, but hide easily when disturbed, or fall to the ground.
Remarks:
Metaplastes oertzeni is endemic to the western part of the Greek Peloponnese. Only a single record refers to the Greek mainland north of the Gulf of Corinth.
