Habitat:
Sphingonotus lusitanicus inhabits coastal dunes with open sand.
Life cycle:
The adults appear in summer and autumn. They are often restricted to the open dunes near the coast in Huelva. The sympatric S. imitans is more often found at open, sunny spots whithin coastal pine woodland there.
Remarks:
Sphingonotus lusitanicus is endemic to SW-Iberia and is found in the Algarve (Portugal) and in the province of Huelva (Spain).
