Nutrition:
Mostly leaves of deciduous shrubs, very greadily Rubus sp.

Habitat:
Miramella formosanta inhabits edges of forests, shrub-rich habitats such as old quarries, blackberry thickets, forest clearings almost up to timberline.

Life cycle:
The adults are found from late June to October. They can be observed on the upper side of leaves of bushes, from ground level up to about 2m in height. At sites with strong populations the foliage of the bushes is heavily erode in late summer.

Endangerment factors:
In the lower elevations Miramella formosanta is locally threatened by the standardization of the landscape (agrigulture, forestry, overbuilding), but at higher elevations and in wooded areas on the other hand quite still quite common.

Remarks:
This grasshopper is found only in the Southern Alps and is limited here almost to the Insubrian region.
