Habitat:
Calliptamus wattenwylianus inhabits dry and hot, only sparsely vegetated areas (open soil, rocks) like open garigues, dune areas or pastures mostly in the lowlands.
Life cycle:
The adults appear between May and November with peak in June/July.
Remarks:
Calliptamus wattenwylianus occurs in N-Africa and SW-Europe (Iberian Peninsula, S-France, westernmost Liguria).
