Habitat:
Rhacocleis baccettii usually inhabits dwarf shrub heathlands of all kind. It is especially common in Genista corsica pastures in the Gennargentu mountains. The spiny dwarf shrubs offer a good protection against grazing. In other sites I recorded individuals also in garigues and Erica arborea scrub. In Literature also coastal wetlands are mentioned.
Life cycle:
The adults appear between summer and autumn. They are easily flushed out of the dwarf shrubs.
Remarks:
Rhacocleis baccettii occurs locally in all parts of Sardinia from sea level up to the highest peaks. Most sites are reported from above 300m.
