Habitat:
Pycnogaster sanchezgomezi inhabits pastures, garrigues, scrub, rocky slopes and similar places.
Life cycle:
Pycnogaster sanchezgomezi is early as all Pycnogaster. In lower altitudes it may be adult from April to July, in higher altitudes later. The animals live on the ground and retreat under stones and into dense vegetation.
Remarks:
Pycnogaster sanchezgomezi is endemic to eastern Spain. It is known from regions north and northwest of Valencia as well as from a broad stripe between Almeria and the Sierra de Cazorla and adjacent regions.
In the Sierra de Albarracin (province of Teruel and adjacent regions), especially its northern areas, also Pycnogaster jugicola occurs (see this species).
