Habitat:
Platycleis grisea inhabits dry and warm sites such as pastures, nutrient-poor grasslands, mountain slopes, quarries etc.
Remarks:
Platycleis grisea replaces Platycleis albopunctata south of the Alps and in SE-Europe. It occurs from the French Alps across whole Italy, S-Switzerland, S- and E-Austria and the Balkans to Turkey.
Hints on determination:
The two taxa Platycleis grisea and P. albopunctata differ only weakly in a few morphological details (female subgenital plate and titillatores). Thus Platycleis grisea is better regarded as subspecies of P. albopunctata.
