Nutrition:
The species feeds on bushy Euphorbia species.
Habitat:
Acrostira tamarani inhabits Euphorbia-rich stony slopes (succulent belt) and open pine woodland most often between 300 and 1300m.
Life cycle:
The adults are supposed to occur year-round. I met adults and larvae of various stages in mid-December 2016 (700m, Mirador de Tasartico). The animals usually sit on twigs and stems of the host plants during favourable weather conditions.
Endangerment factors:
Acrostira tamarani has surely already been pushed back by overbuilding and agriculture (incl. goat grazing). Nowadays especially bush fires are a major threat.
Remarks:
Acrostira tamarani is endemic to Gran Canaria (Spain, Canaries).
