Host plants:
The larvae are polyphagous on bushes, dwarf shrubs and more rarely also herbs. Tamarisks and broom are often preferred.
Habitat:
Streblote panda inhabits warm landscapes which are interspersed with plenty of scrub. Especially typical are coastal, salty wetlands with tamarisks. It is also found on hot slopes (usually in lower elevations) with scrub or in garigues, even in gardens.
Life cycle:
The larvae hibernate. I recorded half- to usually already fully-grown larvae near Cadiz in early March 2019. Pupation occurs in a cocoon which is often constructed on the twigs of the host plant. The moths fly from April or early May in several generations into autumn.
Remarks:
Streblote panda occurs in N-Africa and the Iberian Peninsula.
