Host plants:
The larva is polyphagous in the herb layer.

Habitat:
Spilosoma urticae inhabits wetlands, such as fens, wet meadows, humid woodland margins, swamps and similar places.

Life cycle:
The moths occur in one or two generations between May and September. Larvae are found from June to early November. I recorded them in October 2014 (Camargue). The pupa hibernates.

Endangerment factors:
Spilosoma urticae vanishs with the destroyment of its habitat through human activities of all kinds, especially agriculture and overbuilding.

Remarks:
Spilosoma urticae occurs in parts of Europe and temperate Asia.
