Host plants:
The caterpillars feed on grasses. Near Buggeru (Sardinia), I observed oviposition on leaves of Brachypodium retusum.
Habitat:
Lasiommata paramegaera inhabits rocky slopes, quarries, Maquis, stony or rocky pastures and similar habitats from sea level up to the mountains.
Life cycle:
Lasiommata paramegaera is on the wing in several generations between April and October. Oviposition took preferably place in a habitat near sea level in Sardinia (Buggeru, May 2012) on the leaves of Brachypodium retusum which grew partially shaded under low bushes. The larva hibernates.
Endangerment factors:
Lasiommata paramegaera is not endangered.
Remarks:
Lasiommata paramegaera is close to Lasiommata megera and can still be considered as a subspecies of the latter without any problems. Lasiommata paramegaera is endemic to Corsica, Sardinia and a few nearby, smaller islands.
