Habitat:
Gryllus bimaculatus inhabits pastures, scrub, dunes, grasslands and ruderal terrain.

Life cycle:
The adults appear from July to autumn. In the south (e.g. Madeira or Canaries), Gryllus bimaculatus can be observed also in winter. Gryllus bimaculatus does not dig own ducts but hide on the ground in grass clumps or under stones.

Endangerment factors:
Near the coast Gryllus bimaculatus is pushed back through tourism and urban sprawl, but is overall not in serious danger.

Remarks:
Gryllus bimaculatus occurs throughout the Mediterranean from Spain to Greece. It is also observed on some Canaries and Madeira.
