Habitat:
Empusa fasciata inhabits dry, bushy pastures, scrub, garigues, fallow land, woodland margins and similar places.
Life cycle:
The larvae hibernate. I observed them still quite small in Rhodes in September. Adults appear from spring to summer.
Remarks:
Empusa fasciata occurs in the eastern Mediterranean (Greece, Cyprus, Israel, Turkey, North Africa, Romania, Bulgaria) and is said to occur also in India.
